Tech Employees Unite Against ICE Raids, Call on CEOs to Intervene

Big Tech Staff Rally Bosses Against Trump’s ICE RaidsIn a bold move, hundreds of tech industry professionals have come together to condemn the recent surge in ICE raids across major US cities. With over 200 signatures, these employees are urging their CEOs to take action and pressure President Trump's administration to withdraw federal agents from urban areas.

Tech Employees Speak Out Against ICE Raids
The letter, signed by workers at top tech companies like Google, Amazon, and TikTok, highlights the devastating impact of ICE raids on innocent civilians. The employees recall a previous instance where their CEOs successfully intervened to prevent federal officers from being deployed in San Francisco in 2025. Now, they're calling on their leaders to do the same for Minneapolis, where ICE raids have led to violence and protests.

A Shift in the Tech Industry's Stance
The tech world has undergone a significant shift in its stance on Trump's administration. While many companies previously opposed his policies, including the Muslim travel ban, they've remained largely silent on issues like immigration and diversity initiatives. This silence has been met with fear of retribution among employees, who are now speaking out against ICE raids.

The Power of Collective Action
Anne Diemer, a HR consultant from San Francisco, curated the letter and emphasizes the importance of collective action in bringing about change. 'There is a stereotype that tech is with Trump on this, and there are a lot of tech companies that have contracts with ICE,' she says. 'I wanted to show that it isn't all of us.' Diemer believes that by working together, tech employees can create significant impact.

Experts Weigh in on the Consequences of Inaction
Lisa Conn, a start-up founder who fought extremism on Facebook while working for Meta, warns that inaction will have severe consequences. 'When people are being killed on the streets, business goes to hell, and it takes decades to recover,' she says. Conn emphasizes the need for companies to prioritize human rights and avoid supporting authoritarian regimes.

The tech industry's collective voice is a powerful force that can drive change. As these employees continue to speak out against ICE raids, they're sending a clear message: their CEOs must take action to protect innocent civilians and uphold human rights. The outcome of this movement will be closely watched, not just by the tech community, but by the nation as a whole.
