At first, it looks like chaos… but it’s actually a turning point in history.

Addis Ababa, June 1941.

After years under Italian control, Allied and Commonwealth forces entered the city — and what they found was something few people ever get to see.

An entire street filled with stacked rifles.
Left behind. Collected. Silent.

Not displayed.
Not organized for the public.
Just gathered in one place, marking the end of a chapter.

Moments like this don’t always make headlines, but they tell a deeper story — how quickly things can change, and what gets left behind when they do.

Some of these items would later move on, passed into new hands as the region entered a new phase.
